The final episode of the first half of season 16 of South Park - Cartman Finds Love - was an enjoyable romp.
I generally find that the most enjoyable episodes of South Park feature storylines that are based on the stupid and normal things kids do, rather than current events - such as the one where the girls have a fortune-telling device, and the episode where they make lists of varying kinds (I'd look up the names, but, I can't be bothered).
As well as simply just finding them funnier, they also tend to hold up better over the years. As this season has been mostly wrapped up in world affairs to date, I am glad this Cartman Finds Love went back to basics.
Sort of.
The ridiculous laugh got me each time.
Cartman, being the good kid he is, decides that interrace relationships are wrong, and plays Cupid to make sure things go the 'right' way. However, he doesn't just play Cupid - he has an incredibly homoerotic relationship with an imaginary Cupid in his head, which is... Strange, but reasonably amusing. Even more amusing is the end of the episode, where imaginary Cupid sets Cartman up with an equally hideous young girl... That kid has issues.
Anyway, definitely one of the strongest episodes of the season, and now I'm really sad I have to wait months for new South Park. Sigh. #FirstWorldProblems (Yes, I am aware hashtags don't work on blogs, but you get my point).
SO yeah, in case you didn't notice, I'm a massive fanboy of the show. Get used to more South Park-related posts - assuming I don't give up on the blog (again, devastating those two readers in the process).
